In a groundbreaking collaboration announced in January 2023, Petrofac joined forces with Dutch-German Transmission System Operator TenneT and global technology leader Hitachi Energy.

Together, they have entered into early works agreements to support TenneT’s 2GW Programme, a pioneering initiative to expand the Netherlands’ high voltage direct current (HVDC) offshore wind grid.

This agreement aims to expand offshore wind capacity in the Dutch-German North Sea, representing the largest in Petrofac’s history.

By combining their expertise in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and high-voltage alternating current (HVAC) solutions, along with their Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) capabilities, the partners aim to ensure the timely delivery of this ambitious renewable energy infrastructure.

In June 2023, Petrofac secured a significant US$700 million Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract from ADNOC Gas Processing.

The contract involves the construction of a new gas compressor plant at ADNOC’s Habshan Complex, located West of Abu Dhabi.

The project’s scope involves designing, acquiring materials, and building three gas compressor trains, along with utilities and power systems.

With this state-of-the-art facility, ADNOC aims to substantially increase its gas output, aligning with the region’s growing energy demands.

Petrofac’s expertise in EPC services perfectly supports ADNOC’s ambitious goals.

In another remarkable achievement, Petrofac confirmed signing a US$1.5 billion EPC contract in Algeria in June 2023.

In April 2023, Petrofac secured a new EPC contract to continue supporting a Lithuanian refinery upgrade.
